There’s
no place like home……THIS
YEAR’S MUSICAL IS THE WIZARD OF OZ. Audition
sign-ups are posted on the auditorium doors.
Tryouts are Wed - Fri, Jan. 24-26.
Students should prepare a one to two minute
monologue and a short piece of memorized vocal music.
The musical will run Thursday, May 3 through
Saturday, May 5. Contact
Mr. Swenson for more information.
Congratulations!!!
The Boise High Chamber Orchestra,
led by Orchestra Director Wendy
Hartman, has been invited to this year’s American
String Teachers’ Association National Orchestra
Festival. The Festival, scheduled for March 8-10 in
Detroit
, is widely considered to be the “Superbowl” of
national high school orchestras. On Friday, February 2 at
7:30 pm, a benefit concert will be held in the Boise High
auditorium to raise funds to help pay for the trip.
Boise High’s own Mr. Matt Swenson will be
featured as a tenor soloist in addition to BSU’s Dr.
Nicole Murphy on flute and Angela Hartman, BSU senior, on
clarinet. The
Chamber Orchestra will give a preview performance of their
music. Tickets
are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and may
be purchased at the door or in advance through the ASB
Office, 854-4270, ext. 103.

Wrestling
Update:
Boise
High lost to Capital 59 to15, but our kids wrestled the
best I have seen in two years. George Gundlach, Ray Ayres
and David Nathan won their matches.
David and George are both ranked in the state and
Ray beat a wrestler that was ranked so Ray should be
ranked next week when the new ranking comes out.
On the JV team, Tyler Lobb, Ryan Ayres, Danny
Oldham, Evan Scigliano, and Hugh Thorton won their
matches. Tuesday,
Jan. 23, will be our Senior Night. We wrestle at 7:30 pm
in the old gym so come support your braves as they take on
Bishop Kelly! -Coach
Murray
Sophomore
Boys Basketball:
The Braves lost two tough games over the weekend, dropping
our record to 2- 10 overall, 1-9 in conference games.
Against
Caldwell
on Friday night, Zack Fox led all scorers with 18 points,
with Tyler McFarland and Max Chambers chipping in 10 and 9
points respectively. On Saturday night against

3 pt line, and Tyler McFarland added 8 points in the

upcoming schedule has us @ home on Friday vs. Borah and

you all there cheering on the Braves!
