Orchestra News: Congratulations go to the three Orchestras at Boise High for all receiving superior ratings at the District III Large Group Festival on March 6, 2007. Congratulations to the Boise High Chamber Orchestra who just returned from the ASTA National Orchestra Festival in Detroit , Michigan .  Over the course of 2 1/2 days, there were 20 groups who were chosen to perform an hour program at this prestigious event.  Only two orchestras were awarded the highest honor of the Superior Rating trophy - Boise High Chamber Orchestra was one of them.  They ended up winning the 2nd place trophy overall as well. March 20 is the District III Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Festival at Boise State University . –Mrs. Hartman

 

Boise High's Prom 2007 “Casino Royale” --In addition to admission sales at the door, this year available for purchase: April 25-27, fabulous Pre-Sale Tickets.  $13.00 with activity card, $15.00 without.  Sold during lunch and break.  Rates apply both at the door and pre-sale.
When:  April 28...doors open at 8:00 pm, ending at 11:00 pm
Where:  Powerhouse Events Center 621 S. 17th.

Graduation Party--Planning has begun for the 2007 Graduation Festivities, Thursday, June 7, for the Boise High Seniors.  There will be a Senior Picnic during the day, and an all-night party at Boondocks.  We are looking for volunteers. Here’s what’s happening in the Career Center this week:

-- University of Idaho representatives available for questions, Tuesday, March 20, noon.

--Zoo Boise is looking for volunteers to help out March 31 on the Easter “Eggs”travaganza Event.

--Oliver Finley Cosmetology will be in the Career Center on Wednesday, March 21, at noon.

--Roosevelt Lunch Buddies will have a pizza party at the elementary school this week. 

--Attention juniors- If you are a high-achieving low-income student, you have a chance to attend one of the nation’s best colleges with the Quest Bridge Scholarship.  Application deadline is March 31. –Mr. Hanson

 

Kudos to Zoe Lammer, a junior at Boise High School and a student in the Digital Photography class at the Dehryl A. Dennis Professional Technical Education Center , who was recognized for winning 2nd place in the Photo Imaging Education Association Photo Competition in the category of Best Computer Assisted Image by a Student. Lammer’s image was selected from 6,493 images from 1,504 entrants from 121 schools in 9 countries. Prizes she received included camera accessories, software and gift cards.

 

Red Carpet Film Festival applications for submission are now available in Room 313.  Films will be due April 10th.  The Festival is on Thursday, April 26th.  Contact Ms. Brydges for questions!

 

Boise High Athletic Director Tracy Leinen was among eight high school athletic directors in the nation to be awarded a Citation of Excellence by the National Federation of State High School Associations.  Congratulations!
