News --The
following Orchestra students placed in the District III
Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Festival on March 20, 2007 and
will now be eligible for the State Solo Contest on May 5,
2007: Violin:
Ian Dobie (4th) and Jennifer George (5th); Viola:
Allison George (1st), Joe Burquist (4th) and Laura Rodriguez
(5th); Cello: Brendan Rickerd (3rd) and Abby Lute (4th);
Bass: Renaud Boucher-Browning (1st).
Congratulations to these students, along with all the
students who participated in the festival.
The
Boise High Chamber Orchestra returned from the ASTA National
Orchestra Festival on March 11, 2007. While there, the
chamber orchestra was one of only two orchestras to receive
the highest award - the Superior Award Trophy. These
students had a wonderful trip and gave an outstanding
performance.
The
Boise High Sophomore Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra and
Chamber Orchestra all received a Superior Rating at the
District III Large Group Festival on March 6, 2007. –Mrs.
Hartman
Congratulations
to Mira Madorsky who was chosen to participate in the All-State
Vocal Competition
on May 7. She
is one out of 328 students state-wide, and one of 24
students from the
Boise
School District
selected to compete. Way to go, Mira!
Debate
News –Boise
High qualified an unprecedented four policy debate teams and
three individual debaters to the State Competition.
They placed second as a team.
