It’s Senior Week and that means Theme Days.  Here’s what we’ve got planned:

  Tuesday – Hero Day: Dress like your favorite hero.

  Wednesday-- Western Day: Wear you cowboy hat!

  Thursday-- College Day: No Hats; just represent your college!

  Friday – Spirit Day: Wear you Boise Brave gear.  We want to see RED & WHITE!!!

 

Congratulations to the following State Band Soloists who placed first in state: Lyon Anderson—Euphonium, Casey Lindorfer—Trombone, Kristin Robertson--Marimba. They are to be commended for their hard work.

 

Tuesday, May 15, is the Senior Concerto Concert at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.  Come support the Orchestra’s graduates as they perform their solos with the Chamber Orchestra. This will be their last concert here at Boise High and you won’t want to miss it!

 

Come to The Big Read at your Book Club, Thursday, May 24.  Lunch provided!

 

Time Capsule Time!!  If you wish to add materials to Time Capsule, drop your stuff off outside of Mr. Arnold’s room, 504.  Items must not be alive or perishable!

 

Fat Tire Club--We will be meeting in Room 504 this Tuesday, May 15.  We will have a ride this weekend, so bring out your bikes.  Check Room 504 for time and location

--Do you like money?  Want to own your own business?  Then check out Idaho Business Week.  More information and applications available in the career center, hurry the deadline is May 18th.

--From Mayor David Bieter - The City of Boise is seeking the brightest and most energetic young leaders of our community to serve on the city's boards and commissions for 2007-2008.  If you have a serious interest and would like to contribute to this kind of challenging public service please submit an application today.  Information and applications available in the career center. Hurry!  The deadline is Friday, May 18th.

-- Are you an artist or a musician?  Now you’ll have the opportunity to get your name out there!  On Sat, May 19, join the Peace Alliance at a coffee shop to display your art or perform your music while bystanders watch!!  Sign up in the Career Center today!

 

The Parent Community Advisory Council (PCAC) has become a major voice for parents in the Boise School District .  In the last year PCAC worked with the state legislature to get more funding for No Child Left Behind, had a Q & A with Tom Luna - the newly elected Superintendent of Public Instruction, invited Debbie Field to share the Governor's drug policy, sponsored a Q & A luncheon for all the Idaho state senators and representatives whose district includes the BSD.  The BSD has a board of Trustee attend PCAC's monthly meetings and Superintendent Dr. Stan Olson attends as his schedule allows.  In addition to attending the informative monthly meetings, PCAC members are encouraged to participate in PCAC sub-committees where you have a chance to formulate the concerns and advice exchanged with the BSD.  Boise High needs volunteers interested in serving on the Parent Community Advisory Council.  You can talk to the current members - Betty Richardson, Sally Halbach, or Kim Hoff, for more information.  If interested please discuss with Principal Ken Anderson.  Information is also at http://www.boiseschools.org/pcac - Todd Fischer

 

All library books are due on Tuesday, May 15, so get your books and materials turned in to the Library Media Center by that date.  Also, be sure to drop by the library to take care of overdues & fines to prepare for a great summer.
