Boise
High Named in Newsweek’s Top High Schools for third year
in a row --
Boise
and Timberline high schools are listed again, among the best
high schools in
America
. In the May 28, 2007 issue, Newsweek magazine ranks
the top high schools in the
United States
and
Boise
and Timberline high schools are ranked in the top 1,200. The
annual rankings also show
Boise
and Timberline as
Idaho
’s only high schools listed as receiving this national
recognition.
Newsweek
ranked
public high schools throughout the nation according to a
ratio of the number of rigorous Advanced Placement and/or
International Baccalaureate and/or
Cambridge
tests taken by all students at a school in 2006 divided by
the number of graduating seniors. All of the schools on the
list have an index of at least 1.000; they are in the top 5
percent of public schools across the country. The ratio was
devised by Washington Post Education Reporter Jay
Mathews.
As
part of its ranking of 1,200 high schools in the
United States
, Newsweek magazine listed
Boise
High School
as 496 and Timberline as 1021. Boise High has an AP test
ratio to student of 1.879. Timberline has an AP test ratio
to student of 1.225. This is the third year in a row
Boise
High School
has been listed in the top 1,200 and the second time
Timberline High has been listed.
“The
Newsweek ranking serves as a testament to the hard
work, dedication, and devotion of our staff members,
students, and parents,” said Ken
Anderson, principal,
Boise
High School
. The complete Newsweek article and rankings can be
found online at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18757087/site/newsweek/

Braves are JV Treasure Valley Champions! What a game!! The
Braves never trailed during the championship game and
squeaked out a 4-3 victory over Centennial. The

Braves just played better. Next year will be
